Two thousand years of stone

The quarries around Afyonkarahisar have been worked since antiquity. At İscehisar, the ancient city of Docimium supplied Rome with its prized white and violet-veined marble, shipped across the empire for columns and wall cladding. Afyon is still one of Türkiye's largest centers of marble quarrying and processing.

About 200 kilometers to the southwest, Denizli sits below the travertine terraces of Pamukkale. The Roman city of Hierapolis was built from the same travertine on the hill above them, and the quarries around Denizli still supply travertine to fabricators and builders worldwide.

Across the Aegean region the story repeats: the marble of Aphrodisias in Aydın fed one of the great sculpture schools of the Roman world, and today the quarries and plants of Muğla, Uşak, Manisa and İzmir add their own marbles, limestones and granites to the region's output.

A machine industry next to the quarries

Where stone is cut every day, the machines that cut it follow. Around the processing plants of Denizli, Afyon and the other Aegean cities, manufacturers build bridge saws, CNC machines and finishing lines for the workshops next door, and develop them on the same marble, travertine and granite their customers cut.

What they have often lacked is a direct line to fabricators abroad: someone who speaks the buyer's technical language, knows what the EU and other markets require, and stays with the project from the first drawing to commissioning.

What Hiera CNC does

Hiera CNC brings hands-on experience installing and commissioning machinery in the European Union to this industry. We work directly with established manufacturers in Denizli, Afyon and across the Aegean region, and match each configuration to the factory best equipped to build it.

  • Application review and machine configuration
  • Compliance check: CE documentation and the 2027 EU Machinery Regulation
  • Factory visit with a live cutting demo, and private airport transfer
  • Factory Acceptance Test, export documents and shipping
  • Installation, commissioning and operator training

Each machine is manufactured, invoiced and warranted directly by the factory that builds it. You keep one technical contact from configuration to commissioning and afterwards for service.

The name

Hiera comes from Hierapolis, the travertine city above Denizli. The logo shows three terrace rims, one holding water, and a corner sawn off straight: the stone as it forms, and the stone as a machine cuts it.
